About St Killian
Located on one of Potts Point's finest avenues, St Killian is a 4 story residential complex constructed in the late 1980s at 6 Challis Avenue. All lots are residential comprising 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments.
With most of the apartments capturing city skyline views, St Killian is set at the quiet end of Challis Avenue adjacent to grand Victorian houses and only footsteps to excellent cafes and restaurants. It is 400m from the famous El Alamain fountain and Fitzroy Gardens in the heart of Potts Point. Well served by public transport, bus routes to both the CBD and Central Station are only a couple hundred metres away and Kings Cross train station is 600m from the property. The city, the Art Gallery of NSW, the Royal Botanic Gardens and the restaurants of Woolloomooloo Bay are also within walking distance.
It is a small, modern, well-established building in an area of the city currently enjoying significant rejuvenation and with a strong sense of community.
Who was St Killian?
St Killian was an Irish missionary bishop and the Apostle of Franconia (in modern day Germany) where he began his work towards the end of the 7th Century. He is the patron saint of sufferers of rheumatism and his feast day is 8 July. Killian is usually portrayed wearing a bishop's mitre and holding a sword, the instrument of his martyrdom!
